CT / CBCT workspace
A full CBCT workstation — in the browser, shared.
Drop the DICOM export on a case and every verified participant gets the same radiology-grade view: three synchronized planes, 3D bone reconstruction, a true panoramic reformation along the dental arch, and implant planning in real millimetres.
Everything a dental CT discussion needs
- MPR that just works. Axial, sagittal and coronal planes with a synchronized crosshair; scroll slices with the wheel, window/level with Bone and Soft-tissue presets, zoom, pan, invert, fullscreen.
- 3D bone volume. WebGL reconstruction with live threshold, opacity and three-axis clipping — rotate the anatomy, not your imagination.
- Panorama along the arch (CPR). Draw the dental arch once on an axial slice and the whole CT unfolds into a panoramic view — thin slice, averaged slab or MIP, with adjustable thickness, height and depth.
- Implant planning, your sizes. Any diameter, any length — place, drag, tilt; dimensions stay millimetre-true on every plane and on the panorama.
- Annotations that persist. Points, arrows, text, freehand and calibrated measurements anchor to the exact series and slice; a shared link reopens the same view for anyone on the case.
- Automatic de-identification. Patient tags are stripped at upload; the raw export is quarantined and deleted after processing.
Frequently asked questions
▸Which CT formats can I upload?
DICOM exports from any CBCT machine: individual .dcm files, extension-less instance files, the whole exported folder, or one ZIP of the series (up to 500 MB). Instances are grouped into studies and series automatically and ordered by their physical positions.
▸Is patient data removed?
Yes — patient-identifying DICOM tags are removed or blanked automatically at upload, private vendor tags are dropped, and series flagged for possible burned-in data are held for review. Files are never public and never indexable.
▸Do my colleagues need to install anything?
No. The viewer runs entirely in the browser — MPR planes, 3D bone volume, panorama and implant planning included. A shared link opens the exact series, slice and view you were looking at.
▸Can I plan implants in the CT?
Yes. Type any diameter and length in millimetres, click to place, drag to move and tilt. Implants render on all three planes and on the panorama with true physical dimensions, and every participant of the case sees them.
▸Is this a diagnostic device?
No — Smatch Cases provides professional exchange and technical visualization. Clinical decisions always remain with the treating clinician.
